About

I joined the Darrin Fresh Water Institute in 2003 as a summer intern after  graduating with a BS in Geology from Union College. I continued as a labratory technician and eventually entered graduate school. I earned my PhD in Biology in 2013 from RPI. I have continued as a post doctoral research assosciate for the DFWI.

My major professors for my graduate work were Sandra Nierzwicki-Bauer and Chuck Boylen. They were incredibly supportive and helpful, and have shaped my academic and professional life. The other members of my committee included James Sutherland, Susan Gilbert, and Brad Lister, each of whom were very insightful and encouraging.

My research interests are fairly broad within the limnology field. My dissertation involved hydroacoustics to study fisheries, macroinvertebrates sediment typing, habitat mapping, and the detection and mapping of invasive species. My postdoc work has involved extensive work on physical and biological processes in Lake George.
